The University of Findlay partners with Transact to create a connected experience across their campus
"The student feedback for a Transact Mobile Credential has been exceptional. The students love it. I remember when they were doing new student orientation. It was a big deal for the incoming students to be able to use a phone instead of having to have a physical ID."

Systems Engineer, University of Findlay
Integrated their one-card program with Transact Door Access Control and Security
Findlay needed a solution to connect its student ID program with its door access system. This would allow their administrative team to manage a single system and students to access campus buildings with their OilerOne Mobile ID card.
No more manual processing to load, remove, and manage meal plans
The University of Findlay has saved time and resources by automating processes with Transact Cloud POS. Removing manual data entry has streamlined meal plan management and improved operations.
Findlay partnered with the leader in higher education
The University of Findlay has been working with Transact since 2007. They have been able to grow and improve with the help of Transact's advanced technology and excellent support.
The University of Findlay and Transact Campus
Findlay and Transact have been partners since the mid-2000s. Transact offers new solutions and support to create an engaging, mobile-centric campus experience. We collaborated to develop the OilerOne Mobile ID card, campus commerce, and integrated payments programs. We made these enhancements to improve their mobile experience.
From this partnership, UF now benefits from a comprehensive range of Transact services and support. These include Transact Transaction System Enterprise (TSE), Transact Mobile Credential, Transact Door Access and Security, Transact Online Photo Submission, Transact Cloud POS, Transact Kiosks, Transact Registers, Transact Payment Processing, Transact Refunds, Transact Cashiering, Transact Payment Plans, and more.
Josh Baker added, "I would like to say a lot of good things about Transact support. They've always been incredible. Just thinking of the individuals I've worked with like Jim Phillips.
We had a problem with our integration, and he sent me a handwritten note with instructions on how to fix it. It worked perfectly, and I loved every second of it."
Transact TSE and Transact Cloud POS streamline UF operations
The University of Findlay implemented Transact TSE and Transact Cloud POS, which have improved service delivery and streamlined operations.
The platform simplifies the process of paying for food and shopping on campus. It brings everything together in one place for a convenient experience. This makes it easier for users to make payments.
The platform streamlines the payment process for food and shopping on campus. This improvement saves staff time and resources that they used to spend on outdated tools and manual processes.
Transact Cloud POS has made UF administrators' jobs more efficient. It saves time by automating tasks like adding, deleting, and managing meal plans. This allows users to focus on more important tasks.
It has also helped Josh on the IT front: "Before we went to Cloud POS, we had to constantly work on [our old registers] and support them. Currently, we don't really have any issues with Cloud POS; it runs perfectly."
With Transact TSE, Transact Online Photo Submission, Transact iValdate, Transact Door Access and Security, and Transact Mobile Credential, students can use their OilerOne Mobile ID card across campus through mobile and contactless versions.
Joshua Baker added, "A pain point that we had with credentialing was just maintenance of the printers that was on IT side of the job. So now, with Mobile Credential and along with Online Photo Submission, we just approve a photo, and we're done."
His department no longer prints cards. Students can upload photos anytime, anywhere, and save time by avoiding lines.
OilerOne Mobile ID card, the University of Findlay's digital student ID card, has received an impressive 60% adoption rate
The trend of using mobile credentials is becoming popular on college campuses. Digital IDs have become an essential factor in school recruitment. A study by Transact found that 70% of Gen Z students believe having digital student IDs available is important when choosing a college to attend.
In the University of Findlay's article announcing Transact Mobile Credential to the student population, Brandi Laurita, Vice President of Student Affairs and Director of Athletics, echoed this trend: "The University of Findlay is excited to bring technology to our campus that will allow for increased ease, convenience, and enhanced security for our students...The OilerOne Mobile ID is an innovative and progressive technology that allows the University to continue to be a leader in higher education."
University of Findlay President Katherine Fell, Ph. D., added, "I am pleased that we can offer this highly advanced technology to our students, staff, and faculty. It will save them time and keep them safer."
Transact Mobile Credential allows Findlay community members to use their student card on their phones for convenience and security. This innovative NFC-enabled technology, compatible with Apple Wallet™, Samsung Wallet™, Google Wallet™, Apple Watch, and Samsung Galaxy Watch, empowers users with seamless access to dorms, buildings, and dining areas.
Students have widely embraced Transact Mobile Credentials. Since its launch in Spring 2022, the OilerOne Mobile ID card has experienced a remarkable 96% year-over-year growth, with over 2,800+ Mobile Credentials provisioned.
Josh Baker added, "The student feedback for a Transact Mobile Credential has been exceptional. The students love it. I remember when they were doing new student orientation. It was a big deal for the incoming students to be able to use a phone instead of having to have a physical ID."
